Diffusion Borneo - Where Sarawak Meets the World's Most Ambitious Ideas

Borneo has always been a land of depth with its ancient rainforests, river-carved civilizations, cultures that have shaped the human story for millennia. Diffusion Borneo is built on the belief that this same depth belongs in the conversations defining our next chapter: entrepreneurship, investment, innovation, and the future of the digital economy.
Held on 29–30 June 2026 at the Borneo Cultures Museum and Old Court House in the heart of Kuching, Diffusion Borneo brought together founders, funders, policymakers, and change makers for two days of honest conversation, unexpected connection, and the kind of thinking that only happens when the right people are in the same room.
Diffusion Borneo exists to close a gap that has existed for too long.
Too often, the most important conversations in technology and entrepreneurship happen in the same handful of cities and the ideas, talent, and opportunities of places like Sarawak remain on the periphery. We believe that is a loss not just for Borneo, but for the world.
Our mission is to bring those conversations here. To position Kuching and Sarawak as a genuine destination for bold ideas and serious capital. To build a platform where local founders can stand alongside global investors, where Sarawak's unique strengths with its natural resources, its multicultural fabric, its strategic position in Southeast Asia are seen not as footnotes but as assets.

Our Partners
Diffusion Borneo 2026 is made possible by the generous support of our main sponsor, Business Events Sarawak (BESarawak), whose belief in the power of world-class events to transform Sarawak's place on the global stage made this edition possible. We are also proud to be in partnership with Grab, Southeast Asia's leading superapp, and supported by MRANTI. Together advancing a shared vision for innovation, investment, and opportunity in
Borneo.
A Stage for Every Kind of Builder
Across five curated stages, Diffusion Borneo hosted conversations spanning deep tech and climate innovation, early-stage fundraising, creative industries, and the intersection of policy and capital. Each stage was designed with intention: to go deeper than the standard keynote, and to make space for the voices that rarely get the main stage.
Kuching as the Venue, Culture as the Context
We didn't just choose Kuching as a location — we made it part of the programme. From cultural performances at the Old Court House to a Sarawak River cruise that turned networking into something you actually wanted to attend, every moment of Diffusion Borneo was designed to let the spirit of Sarawak speak. Indigenous performers, local artisans, and the living heritage of this city were woven into the fabric of the event, not placed at the edges of it.
Matchmaking That Actually Worked
Through our dedicated matchmaking platform, delegates connected with potential partners, co-founders, and investors before they ever set foot in the room. By the time the doors opened, relationships were already forming. By the time the event closed, deals were already in motion.
Government Bodies That Believed in the Vision
Diffusion Borneo drew meaningful participation from government bodies and agencies at the heart of Malaysia's innovation and economic agenda. SDEC (Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation) and SBAN (Sarawak Business Angel Network) joined as key partners in championing Sarawak's entrepreneurial ecosystem, while MRANTI, Malaysia's national R&D commercialization agency and Labuan IBFC, the international financial centre at Malaysia's offshore hub, brought the weight of national policy and global finance into the conversation. Their presence was a signal: this was not just an event, it was a priority.
A Truly International Room
Over two days, Diffusion Borneo brought together delegates and speakers from fourteen countries across four continents, the United States, Germany, Italy, Spain, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan, Brunei, Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia. Investors scouting Southeast Asia's overlooked markets sat alongside founders pitching with the confidence of people who know their home is worth believing in. The conversations that followed were the kind that only happen when the world comes to you.
