Core Government Centre
Kawasan Inti Pusat Pemerintahan — the national government core and Nusantara's most built-out zone as of 2026, officially divided into three sub-zones under Indonesia's IKN master plan law.
Zone 1A — Core Government
The Istana Negara and Istana Garuda presidential palaces, ministry buildings and ASN/Polri/TNI housing — designed from the outset for high-speed internet and data-centre infrastructure.
Zone 1B — Education & Sports
A planned international-standard university campus intended to anchor research and talent development for the new capital.
Zone 1C — Health
RSUP Nusantara and RS Hermina Nusantara are among the government and international hospitals planned for this zone.
Research & Innovation District
Designated in the IKN spatial masterplan for research, innovation and higher-education services — currently the site of Nusantara's flagship international R&D partnership.
Smart City Cooperation Center (SCCC)
An Indonesia–South Korea joint digital and environmental lab, breaking ground June 2026 with a ~Rp115.9 billion South Korean grant. Modelled on Sejong, South Korea, it targets operations by end-2027.
Higher Education & Innovation Campus
The zone's masterplan designation for research and innovation services tied to higher education, complementing KIPP's own planned university campus.
IKN Barat - Economic, Business & Finance District
The largest of the three core districts, masterplanned as Nusantara's future economic, business and finance centre alongside nature tourism and health services.
Future Business & Financial Center
The masterplanned economic, business and finance hub for the new capital — not yet built out, but designated as IKN Barat's core function.
USTDA Smart-City Partnership
A US Trade and Development Agency-backed technical assistance programme piloting an integrated command centre and smart-city technologies for Nusantara.
Tech Ecosystems in Indonesia
Indonesia's tech economy runs on contrast — a 280-million-person consumer market concentrated in Jakarta's towers, a Singapore-facing manufacturing and data-centre bridge on Batam, a bottom-up digital-nomad economy in Bali, and a government-built smart capital rising from the rainforest at Nusantara.
