Wyhow is a data scientist turned data engineer at Roche. He is a data integration specialist (using data virtualization technology) who makes data more accessible to various teams in Roche. His background as a former Further Mathematics lecturer at a private college also allows him to regularly conduct use-case driven Python workshops in various organizations, to help teams automate their workflows or embark on their analytics projects. Prior to that, he was a data scientist at Khazanah Nasional Berhad, Star Media Group, EY, and INVOKE Solutions (Malaysia).

A few of his notable projects involve using a classification algorithm to forecast voting patterns at voter level during his time at INVOKE, and developing the front-end and the back-end of a search engine to parse encrypted documents on SharePoint. A pivotal achievement in his freelancing endeavours is developing a sales forecasting algorithm with a Mean Average Percentage Error (MAPE) of 13.5%, compared with a subscription-based restaurant management software providing a MAPE of over 21% for a large F&B chain. The sales forecasting algorithm resulted in annual savings in software subscription costs, as well as reduced food wastage in branches across the country. He also developed and maintains several web scrapers for pharmacovigilance teams in ASEAN.

His expertise predominantly lies in data mining, preprocessing, machine learning, and statistical analysis, complemented by problem solving skills to derive actionable insights from data. Wyhow holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the National University of Singapore.
