Paul Lee

Managing Partner, Brunei

In September 2017, Paul co-founded Roiquant with a mission to mitigate business risks and enhance defensibility for founders. Under his leadership, Roiquant received accolades such as the 'Best AI & Machine Learning Startup' at the ASEAN Rice Bowl Startup Awards 2019 in Brunei Darussalam. Notably, Roiquant was also honored with the 'Research & Development Special Award' by H.E. Minister Data Abdul Mutalib Yusuf at the Brunei ICT Awards 2019.


Before establishing Roiquant, Paul served as a founding director for WafaGames, a mobile game development studio, in 2017, and ai.Law, a legal AI startup, in 2016, both based in Beijing. From 2013 to 2016, he held the position of Co-founder and CEO at Seeway Group, a versatile business providing investment advisory, commodity trading, and consultancy services to Beijing's state-owned enterprises. Paul's expertise focused on facilitating structured financing solutions for clients involved in public-private partnership and G2G projects in Africa, Latin America, and Southeast Asia.


In his prior role as CEO of Seeway Group, Paul successfully led the company to secure international projects and manage the import/export of various goods. Between 2012 and 2014, he co-founded and served as CEO of KG Inc., a professional conference organizer that hosted notable events like the APEC Women Leadership Forum in Beijing. Before embarking on his entrepreneurial journey in China, Paul worked at Asia Inc Forum from 2011 to 2012 in Brunei Darussalam, contributing to business and public policy dialogue in Southeast Asia and the Asia Pacific.


Paul holds a Bachelor of Art and Social Sciences degree in Communication and International Studies from Monash University, Melbourne, Victoria State, Australia.
